BEHIND THE ARISTS
Imitating God’s Creative Nature
ZILA M. FORRER
My name is Zila, like “Godzilla”, because God has got Zila. I have always loved art and so I got my BFA in drawing at UCF. About 10 years ago my Mom brought me a necklace and said “I got you this because I know you can make it better” and so I did. Then I could not stop. I love silversmithing. I love getting my hands dirty while creating new things. Many times I find myself working on two or three pieces at a time. There is nothing like being in the moment where it’s just me, my work and everything else takes a back seat. I am a mother, a wife, and an artist and I feel closer to God when I create.

I love imitating God’s creative nature though jewelry sketching, lapidary work, and silversmithing. I believe it pleases God when we use our God-given creativity and that we all have this creativity built in us whether it is through drawing, storytelling, planting, cooking etc...we all have it. I used the name "Hosanna" as a shout of adoration to Jesus, who is the most important person in my life. The Hosanna Gallery is a place where I use my God-given creativity to design and create sterling silver statement pieces that make women feel beautiful and adored by God.
